With less than a month away, we have some important tips on making your
visit to the SF BAY Area Salsa Congress memorable, fun, and easy!
1. If you are flying in, make sure you book your tickets to arrive at the
OAKLAND Airport. From there, there is no Hotel Shuttle so you can take a
taxi for $25 or one of the Airport shuttle buses for $12-$19 depending on
how many people are with you.
2. If you want to sight-see around beautiful San Francisco, and you do not
have rental car, you will want to take advantage of the BART system.
Directly across the street from the Convention center, you can go down into
the Bart Station and catch a 12 minute BART ride into the city. From there
you can catch a cable car, muni, or just walk around.
3. Hotel rates are $120 including taxes, and are not going up so you will
always get the best rate going through the SF Congress website.
4. When you register for Congress, you will not receive a ticket. Your name
and information will be at will call and you need to present a valid picture
ID to be able to attend.
5. There are lots of great little restaurants around the Oakland Marriott
City Convention Center, as well as our own Mambo Cafe located within the
Convention center stocked with lots of fast healthy snacks and drinks, but
it is always smart to pack lots of snacks.
6. STAY the night on Sunday if you can! You do not want to miss the
fantastic Dance Competition and the best of the best, OSCAR DE LEON live on
Sunday night! Don't forget, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, dancing til 3am in
the morning!
7. DRESS UP ON SATURDAY NIGHT! This is our Gala night and we love a chance
to dress up here in the Bay Area! Girls, wear your hottest dresses and guys
dress to the nines if just for this night!
We look forward to another fantastic event this year and thank you all for
your support.
